Yesterday, I got to shoot Cristin and Steve's engagement session in the Boston Seaport District and at one of my favorite places - Institute of Contemporary Art! We weren't at all expecting warm weather OR sun, but we got both, which made for an awesome shoot. I can't wait to show you the rest!

And before you know it...it's May. Where has the time gone? Wedding season is upon us and I am so ready to get out there with all my 2012 couples. May is packed full of engagement shoots so get ready! But before we do that, I wanted to share a few of the weddings I shot last year with other photographers. Hopefully this will get us all excited for 2012!

First up, Elizabeth and Vann, who got married at the gorgeous Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton, MA. I love this venue because it reminds me of Vermont. Yes, totally cliche, but completely true. The rolling fields, the traditional red barn, the stunning iron chandeliers hanging from the rafters. Really, it's perfect. A huge thank you as always to Molly for having me tag along!

A friend of mine recently did a blog series where she interviewed the member of her family...including the pets! It got me thinking that I blog so much on here about myself and my baby and even my Puggles - but rarely do I mention my totally awesome husband, Matt. Well, today is about Matt.

Matt is a professor at Dean College in their Theatre department. For those of you who aren't familiar with Dean College, you can check it out here. While checking out the school, you may notice that it is located in my back yard...yes, in Franklin. I can practically see the sign from my dinning room. Matt has the joy of being able to walk to work every day. He doesn't, and I don't blame him...it's cold out there!...but he could. ;) Anyways, last Fall he taught an auditioning class. It's a senior class that kick starts them right in to the real world. And what does an actor need in the real world? A headshot! This is where I come in. Matt, very kindly asked if I could be a guest speaker for his class and also take headshots of a few of his students to help them understand the process. I was completely honored to be asked. While headshots are not something I do on a regular basis, they are something I enjoy doing because it is completely different from weddings. Completely!

Here are a few shots from that day. A huge thank you to Chelsea, Nick, Lexxie and Katie. I had such a great time and I wish all of them so much success!

And just to round off this post...a HUGE congratulations to my hubby for getting in to grad school today ;)

I HATE to cook. I own 17 cookbooks and I have opened maybe 3 of them...ever. You see, I was raised on home cooked meals, and I had always hoped that the love of cooking would pass on to me. I desperately wanted to be a woman who cooked delicious, healthy food for her family. My husband will laugh at this statement, but it is honestly true...I just hid the desire deep down inside all these years ;) I even bought a huge dining table just to help keep this dream alive. So when I found out I was pregnant with little Max, I knew something had to change...if the gene hadn't appeared yet, it wasn't' coming...unless it was one of those strange things that happens while you are pregnant. However, while I was pregnant, I couldn't stand the sight or smell of food. Period. So Matt cooked.

Max is almost 5 months old (!). He will start solids in another month and before you know it we will be eating at the giant dining table...with no food. So, TODAY IS THE DAY! I am going to learn to love cooking/learn how to cook ;) I am starting with easy, one-pot/crock-pot meals...I have no time for dishes!

First up: Texas Pulled Pork. Pulled pork in the crock-pot is one of the easiest things to make in the world, and I've royally messed it up more than once. But not last night! I'm not much of a bun person, so I served the pork in a bowl with a side of roasted potatoes and a spinach salad.

Prep time: 15 minutes. Cook time: 7 hours on low. Verdict: DELICIOUS! Click here for the recipe.

If you have one-pot/crock-pot ideas for me, please leave them in the comment section. I'll make a new one every week. If I pick yours, and it is a success, I'll cook YOU dinner!...JK!! I can barely cook for my family. You'll win a gift card to Sur La Table! That's way better ;)

I realized last week that it has been a while since Rupert & Stella have made an appearance on the blog. I've just been so busy wrapping up 2011, that I have forgotten to take some time for the other loves in my life.

With that said... Max is almost 5 months old! I just can't believe it. Sometimes I forget how much he has grown and I still think I'm holding that little 7 pound 8 ounce baby. But no, he is now a 16 pound baby and full of expression and love. I think I am officially that mother who will always tell her baby that he is HER BABY ;) Here are our monthly pictures - how time flies. (PS - I'm buying the bear suit in every size...Max will wear it 'til he's 18! hehe) And then a cute one from Thanksgiving, up in Vermont.

A lot of times clients ask me, "Have you shot here before?" And sometimes the answer is no, and then they give me a totally bummed look or a sigh. But I am here to tell you that I love shooting at new places. When I show up, I have fresh eyes. I don't already know all the perfect spots or what is guaranteed to work. What I do know is how to enhance your best features through lighting and camera angles. This is what is most important.

Jillian and Matt took me to Hopedale Pond, which I had never been to before. When I showed up, I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was and I already knew that they were going to look fantastic. They showed up in classic dress-casual and it was perfect for this spot. You would also never guess that it was freezing! I wish I had a picture of myself - I was wearing a big puffy hot pink coat, with gloves and earmuffs ;)

Has anyone tried Zumba??? Well now I can say that I have. Today I tried it out for the first time and I am pretty sure I am going to have to practice...yes, practice, three times a day until I go again. I was one out of 40 women and I was the only one dragging my feet and not in the cool hip-hop/Latin dance move way. I definitely want to do it again, but I might need an instructional video ;) Or maybe this is my chance to get a Wii...wink wink Matt ;)

All fitness routines aside...Melissa and Lenny had a gorgeous wedding and awesome party, yes party! Did someone say confetti guns??? Because seriously, if you are going to have a New Years Eve wedding, you'd better make it awesome!

Melissa and Lenny got married at the Renaissance Golf Club up in Haverhill. A fantastic venue for a cozy group of 200. The Pool Room and the Blue Room were perfect for the classic black and red theme that they picked. It offered me the perfect opportunity to do some traditional, period images, which completely fit with the style of their wedding.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. We took Max up to Vermont to visit with my family. It was his first 4 hour car ride...which was actually 5 hours because of the crazy snowstorm we encountered up in the mountains. My family likes to call the Green Mountains the Bermuda Triangle, because even in the summer we have encountered snow. But crazy weather aside, it was wonderful to introduce Max to my grandparents for the first time. We have Skyped just about every week since he was born but to see their faces light up when we walked in the door brought tears to my eyes. My grandmother had a hard time letting him go, even for just a diaper change ;) It was a very touching weekend and now I can't wait for Christmas. We are hosting again this year and now with Max in our lives it will be that much more special.

And you know what else is special?? Chelsea and Mike. I frequently mention Chelsea on the blog and on Facebook because she makes gorgeous jewelry (check out her blog here!). She and Mike also used to be our neighbors back when we lived in the city. Matt and I thought they were the sweetest people from the day we met and always wondered when they would get married. Well, we are still wondering when they will get married, as are they haha, but at least they finally got engaged! Oh...and check out her stunning ring!! Chelsea e-mailed me recently asking if I could help get them in the mood for wedding planning. Getting engaged is the fun and easy part, but actually taking the big step to start planning can be overwhelming. But an engagement shoot can be just the thing to get you excited about it all. I met them in the Boston Gardens just before sunset and we could not have planned it any better. The light was gorgeous and the crowds weren't too bad. Chelsea and Mike did draw a bit of attention, but who doesn't want to look at this gorgeous couple???

I am so happy for you Chelsea and Mike - congratulations! I hope these images get you in the mood ;)

Thanksgiving is upon us, as well as the anniversary of my business, and I feel that this year, both personally and professionally, I have so much to be thankful for. Of course, there is Max. Someone that brings out love that I never knew I had. Max brings tears of love to my eyes on an hourly basis and I can not imagine my life without him. I am so thankful that the cards fell as they did and that Max and I get to hang out together for ever and ever ;) I am so thankful for my husband. He supports me, he makes me laugh, and he makes me decaf coffee. What more could a girl ask for? How about two adoring Puggles!!! I also could not imagine my life without their snuggles and kisses.

I am also thankful for the amazing couples that I got to work with this year. Dealing with a pregnant woman is no small feat and yet, they welcomed me with open arms into their lives, their families and their memories.

And speaking of wonderful clients, Susana and Mark are just that. It is exactly a year since they asked me to photograph their wedding and today I can honestly call them friends. They are two of the kindest people I've come across and it was such an honor to be a part of their wedding day. Susana and Mark had a beautiful Cape Cod wedding at The Brookside Club. It was absolutely freezing that day, but Susana, in her stunning pocketed gown, didn't let it bother her one bit and looked gorgeous the whole day. They had a beautiful tented ceremony, followed by a reception filled with do-it-yourself details. The seating cards were my favorite!

Congratulations friends! I wish you so much happiness and can't wait to watch your family grow :)

	Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Last week I got to photograph the Ouellette family at Sweets Knoll State Park in Dighton. At first glance, this park looks like it might just be someone's backyard. When I pulled up I got a little nervous...haha! So I started to explore and just beyond the tree line was this gorgeous little park situated next to a river. It couldn't have been more perfect for this family shoot. Not to mention the fantastic weather we had and the fact that there was still tons of color on the trees.

You know, there is an upside to hurricane season...it provides many rainy days where you can get a lot of work done. Losing power last week for three days was super yucky, but these last couple days I was able to park myself at the computer and bust out some seriously beautiful weddings. It also means that I still haven't had the baby and I'm going stir crazy. I'm trying to sleep as much as I can, but I find myself just day dreaming of what this little baby is going to look like. Being on the cusp of motherhood is such an interesting place to be with so many emotions rolling around. One minute I am super excited and hoping that I'm rubbing my belly for the last time and the next I am in a complete state of panic over diaper changes and baby vomit. Seriously...this is what my days are like right now. I'd be greatly appreciative if Baby Greene would get here already and just ease all my stressors with cute chubby cheeks!

And so, with all that said, let's focus back on weddings. Check out this stunning wedding I shot with Caitlin Maloney in Narragansett, Rhode Island at The Towers.

Courtney's family rented what is known in Narragansett as The Pottery Barn House as a place for the family to stay for the week as well as a beautiful location for her to get ready in. This is a fantastic alternative to a crowded house or apartment or even a dark hotel room. The room that Courtney got ready in had all the "getting ready" staples...a giant mirror, bright walls and tons of window light! I also want to point out her amazing necklace! Ummmm...GORGEOUS! And while I'm at it, I'll point out her amazing flowers too, done by Weedweavers of Wakefield. I put up quite a few pictures of the flowers because I just can't get enough of them. After Courtney got ready, we met up with Jonathan to do a first look. They chose this dock that was just up the street. Perfect! Their wedding was at South Ferry Church which is a one room, no bathroom, simple as can be church. Again, perfect! They only decoration they had at the alter was a tree that they were going to plant at their home after the wedding. Isn't that such a great idea? After the ceremony we headed over to The Towers where we took more pictures down on the beach. Their reception was loaded with tons of fabulous details like a Polaroid photobooth, a cupcake tower, handmade seating flags and of course, more gorgeous flowers! Oh, and I would also like to point out that the flounder that's on the menu...ya the groom caught it the day before especially for his wedding guests! I just loved everything about this wedding!!!

Well, Baby Greene's due date has arrived and I'm still pregnant! So we wait...and while we wait I thought I would show you what Baby Greene's room looks like. We went with a dog theme...obviously ;) Since we don't know the sex of Baby Greene, we went with super bright colors all around and bright blue walls. I love blue and if given the chance I might paint every room in the house blue! It took a while to find the perfect dog print fabric for the curtains but while blog stalking Chic & Cheap Nursery I came across Spoonflower and it was love at first sight. Matt's mom was kind enough to do the sewing because that is not one of my many talents ;) The circle mobile was made for my baby shower by my best friend Nicole. She also cut out all the paper onesies that I hung on the wall. The moon mirror and lamp shade are from Homegoods and the puppy cups are from Paper Source. I actually bought the puppy cups a few years ago just because I thought they were cute. The "D is for Dog" print is from Etsy and the dog butts are from IKEA...in fact we also got the dresser and crib from IKEA too. The blanket was knitted by my mother. For years I have watched her make them for friends and family and I always wondered what mine would look like. Well here it is and it's totally my favorite! And of course a baby's room would not be complete without a few stuffed animals and books about dogs ;)

Now let's hope Baby Greene shows up soon!!!

Well, we have reached September and Baby Greene is still baking...as I near my actual due date (Sept. 6th!) I am getting more and more anxious and excited. The room is all set up and vacuumed and all the toys have fresh batteries, now all we need is a baby :) But soon enough it will be here and I can't wait to hold it in my arms and watch it sleep...or scream...I'll be happy with either, haha. But before Baby Greene shows up, let me get one last wedding up. Don't worry, I've got plenty more coming your way, but I'm pretty sure I'll be distracted for a couple weeks!

Jaime and Conor had a beautiful wedding down in Newport, Rhode Island. The weather wasn't as beautiful, but at least the rain held off till later in the evening. They had changed their plans and set up for an indoor ceremony at Belle Mer, but were able to switch it at the last minute and have it outside, overlooking the slightly foggy waters of Newport Harbor with the Pell Bridge swaying in the background. Yes, it got a little exciting there for a while! Jaime and Conor did a first look on the beach that made me tear up...just a little...and then we walked all over Newport snapping pics here and there. My favorite stop was at the Jane Pickens movie theater. Check out Jaime and Conor's videographer, David Bettencourt's video teaser from the theater here. They had a stunning reception, highlighted by the appearance of friend and guest, Oscar the Grouch and the man who plays him on TV... I'm totally serious! Oscar is just as cool in person as he is on the telly ;) Sorry, no pics, but you can Google Caroll Spinney and see what Oscar's person looks like ;) A huge thank you to Caitlin Maloney for having me shoot with you.

This morning my husband and I are going out for breakfast. We did the dinner thing one year...and then a fancy dessert another year...but this year we agreed that we should go out for our favorite meal...which is breakfast :) At least it's our favorite meal to not have to cook ;) So, we are going to The Cracker Barrel! We aren't sure what to expect as we have never been there before, we just know that our mailman, John, loves it. I imagine it will be amazing, because eating breakfast out is usually amazing :) Especially when you are pregnant AND it involves old fashioned candy and board games nailed to the wall! I can't wait to hold hands as we sit in the white rocking chairs on the porch (and pretend that we are actually out in the country and not at the outlet mall haha). We'll stare longingly at each other over our pancakes and waffels and remember the last three wonderful years we have spent together. We will smile, because we are so happy with everything we have experienced over the last few years and are so excited with everything that we have coming up! It's going to be the best morning ever :)

This is one of my favorite images from our wedding day, a day that involved everything we had ever dreamed of...family, friends and love. Oh, and cake ;)

Happy Anniversary Matt! I can't wait to eat breakfast with you for the rest of my life ;)

It seems like just yesterday I was introducing you all to little Stella Belle...but yes, a whole year has passed and my little girl is a big one-year old! She has blossomed into a complete trouble maker who loves nothing more than to torture her big brother and play an endless game of fetch...endless. But there is this little bit of time in the evening when she stares up at me sitting on the couch, her lips and ears hang so low. I invite her up and she snuggles just as sweetly as Rupert does on an hourly basis. Her goodnight kisses leave me longing to hold her in my arms forever. It's this evening hour when all wrongs are forgotten and I love her to pieces. Then she wakes up...haha...and I can't wait for the sun to set ;) She has had a very rough first year, but I can't imagine my life without her.

So here is a very BIG Happy Birthday to my sweet little Stella Belle on her first birthday!
